My 5 Grand Soul Gems

Posted by Nicholas Thu, 31 May 2007 00:57:00 GMT

Very early on during my questing in Oblivion I managed to contract Vampirism. I wasn’t aware that it was even possible at the time I got the disease, so I didn’t bother trying to cure it. It wasn’t until the light started burning me as I exited the Rielle caves that I knew something had gone horribly wrong. Over time I noticed I could feed on unsuspecting npcs to allow me to operate in normality for a few more days.

Finally I managed to start the horrendous quest (when I told my friend I’d been on the quest to find the cure he told me that it’s common knowledge that if you contract Vampirism you may as well start cheating, since the quest is a pain) to find a cure for my Vampirism. However, the first things required of me were 5 empty grand soul gems....

Super Rub-a-Dub it!

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 30 May 2007 04:27:00 GMT

As one of the few people who actually own a PS3 (it’s a good system damn it! It DOES warrant the price tag!) I spend a lot of time looking through the titles available for purchase from the PSN store.

One of the better games I’ve found for sale, that I originally downloaded as a demo because I was bored, is an extremely cute game called Super Rub-a-Dub....

Oblivion - Lock picking 101

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 30 May 2007 03:59:55 GMT

Surely I could just state the purpose of this article in a single paragraph, but that would be out of character for me. Instead, I’ll give some loosely related story explaining how I even came to stop hating Oblivion in the first place. Mixed in that you will find a rough set of hints regarding finding Garman gro-Marad’s house and house key.

If you don’t care about that, then you can skip directly to the last 2 paragraphs to find directions to easily purchase lock picks, and some tips that should help improve your lock picking skills....

Get bent, Portland

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 16 May 2007 20:10:00 GMT

Warning! The following is a long rant about my bad day in Portland, it contains nothing of use and you will likely do well to just avoid reading it. If you don’t care, then carry on.

Well, I’ve finally arrived to Portland, Oregon. Unbelievably, I’ve actually had what’s got to be the worst string of bad events I’ve ever had in a single day....

All your RailsConf are belong to me

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 09 May 2007 19:52:00 GMT

Following the lead of Daniel and Lee, and outright stealing the concept and content of Lee’s blog post (he tagged me so it’s sort of ok,) I’ve decided to finally take 10 minutes to create a conference plan for RailsConf 2007.

This year was a damn sight easier to choose which talks to attend, despite the horrendous fact that there seem to be up to 5 talks running parallel to each other in some cases. The reason for said ease in choosing is due to the fact that, well, most of the talks just don’t look incredibly interesting to me (read: waste of money!)...
