So last night I had finally gotten around to watching the first episode of the new season of Beauty and the Geek that I’d tivo’d (that’s right, I not only watch it, but I also tivo it so others can watch it with me at a later date!)

This was one of those episodes where they waste time trying to find new contestants for this season, and ordinarily it’d be pretty boring.

BUT WAIT! This particular episode contained a small nugget of gold. Specifically, there was this one CS student who was auditioning to be one of the ‘Geeks’ whose first language was clearly not English. For whatever reason, the producers of B&tG felt it’d be comical to subtitle this young gentlemen. However, they basically just ended up owning themselves.

“Gmail” somehow became “Gmed”, though they were able to catch “Ajax” and “PHP”, “Ruby on Rails” somehow turned into “Droopy Andre’s”. Yeah, I’m not kidding. Droppy Andre’s! HAHAHAHA.

Maybe it’s just me, but I spent a good 5 minutes laughing at that. I even rewound it a few times to show my wife, so she too could laugh at somebody else’s expense.

A fun time was had by all, and when all is said and done, I have a slightly smaller amount of respect for an already hinging ‘Social Experiment’.

Watching this again, it’s clear I forgot to mock “Java Script” and “Jazzy” though I have no idea what the hell Jazzy is supposed to be. Any ideas?
