GTA 4 vs Iron Man

Posted by Nicholas Thu, 01 May 2008 22:46:25 GMT

In the recent months there has been some debate regarding whether or not the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 was going to affect the ticket sales for the Iron Man film during it’s opening weekend.

Adam Sessler’s take on the issue is that the companies responsible for the film are simply trying to place blame on GTA in an attempt to anticipate poor success at the box office and that if the movie is good, people will see it regardless....

A GTA 4 of my very own

Posted by Nicholas Thu, 24 Apr 2008 21:17:00 GMT

The release of Grand Theft Auto 4 is only a few short days away. Personally I’m getting extremely antsy.

This morning I pre ordered the game from Best Buy for in store pickup and managed to walk away only a mere $5.32 less rich....

Little man finally rocketed

Posted by Nicholas Fri, 04 Apr 2008 04:15:00 GMT

I’ve finally gotten around to playing and beating Half-life 2 episode 2.

I knew before I even began playing the game that I absolutely had to snag that Gnome achievement during my first play through....

Where's the cake?

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 14 Nov 2007 23:15:00 GMT

I can’t help but feel that value of The Orange Box is far understated. I know everyone is hyped on it and each game has gotten a really high score, but it’s worth reiterating just how awesome the content in The Orange Box is.

Take Portal, for example. I found the game to be really hilarious and thought provoking. Sure it’s not the hardest game in the world, or even the longest, but compared to the quality of most current gen titles it’s well worth the full 50 bucks other games receive. There’s also apparently going to be downloadable content that lets you play on harder difficulties? This game rocks! I can’t wait for another outing....

My 5 Grand Soul Gems

Posted by Nicholas Thu, 31 May 2007 00:57:00 GMT

Very early on during my questing in Oblivion I managed to contract Vampirism. I wasn’t aware that it was even possible at the time I got the disease, so I didn’t bother trying to cure it. It wasn’t until the light started burning me as I exited the Rielle caves that I knew something had gone horribly wrong. Over time I noticed I could feed on unsuspecting npcs to allow me to operate in normality for a few more days.

Finally I managed to start the horrendous quest (when I told my friend I’d been on the quest to find the cure he told me that it’s common knowledge that if you contract Vampirism you may as well start cheating, since the quest is a pain) to find a cure for my Vampirism. However, the first things required of me were 5 empty grand soul gems....

Super Rub-a-Dub it!

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 30 May 2007 04:27:00 GMT

As one of the few people who actually own a PS3 (it’s a good system damn it! It DOES warrant the price tag!) I spend a lot of time looking through the titles available for purchase from the PSN store.

One of the better games I’ve found for sale, that I originally downloaded as a demo because I was bored, is an extremely cute game called Super Rub-a-Dub....

Oblivion - Lock picking 101

Posted by Nicholas Wed, 30 May 2007 03:59:55 GMT

Surely I could just state the purpose of this article in a single paragraph, but that would be out of character for me. Instead, I’ll give some loosely related story explaining how I even came to stop hating Oblivion in the first place. Mixed in that you will find a rough set of hints regarding finding Garman gro-Marad’s house and house key.

If you don’t care about that, then you can skip directly to the last 2 paragraphs to find directions to easily purchase lock picks, and some tips that should help improve your lock picking skills....

The return of Goober-fest!

Posted by Nicholas Mon, 20 Nov 2006 21:11:21 GMT

Well, ok.. www.goober-fest.com was never really offline, and there are still people who’re playing it. However, as far as development, it’s been inactive for nearly 2 years aside from the off day that I went on and made a few updates. But even that was only 4-5 times since actual development stopped.

Goober-fest has always been a hidden love of mine. It was the first game I made completely for myself, with my sense of humor and the style of graphics I wanted. Unlike my other games, I’d never intended, or even wanted, to make money from GF. I just wanted a quirky (if corny) little children’s game that could be enjoyed by all ages. It was no surprised to me when the fanbase it developed was comprised of highschool and college kids who ‘got it’....

Jack Thompson is the real bully

Posted by Nicholas Mon, 23 Oct 2006 23:49:00 GMT

So yesterday I stopped buy my local WalMart and picked up the much anticipated Bully from the rockstar game development company, Rockstar.

As everyone knows, this game has sparked much controversy during the last year. Leading some to go so far as to label the game a ‘Columbine Simulator’. However, since Jack Thompson was the person who coined this term, you can bet it’s a fairly good chance that it’s an extreme misrepresentation....
